System Engineer

Golbriak Space OÜ develops secure, high-data-rate free-space optical communication terminals for space, airborne and ground applications. As we transition from engineering builds towards serial production, we are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team in Tallinn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture, analyse, define and maintain system and subsystem requirements
  • Translate product and mission objectives into clear technical requirements, actions and deliverables
  • Allocate requirements across subsystems and maintain traceability throughout the product-development lifecycle
  • Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, optical, electronic, software, thermal, manufacturing and testing activities
  • Identify technical dependencies, assumptions, constraints, conflicts and risks
  • Develop system-level verification and validation plans and define appropriate acceptance criteria
  • Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, qualification and product-acceptance activities
  • Review test results and verification evidence against defined requirements
  • Coordinate the resolution of technical issues involving multiple engineering disciplines
  • Track technical activities, dependencies, risks, decisions and milestones
  • Prepare and support technical and design reviews
  • Maintain requirements specifications, interface documentation, verification plans, technical reports and engineering decision records
  • Support configuration management and the controlled implementation of engineering changes
  • Collaborate with founders, engineering leads, technical teams, suppliers, partners and customers
  • Contribute to the improvement of systems-engineering processes, documentation and development workflows

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, aerospace engineering, physics or another relevant technical discipline
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to understand complex multidisciplinary systems
  • Experience in systems engineering, product development or multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Experience defining, analysing and managing technical requirements
  • Understanding of requirements flow-down and traceability
  • Experience with system integration, verification or validation
  • Ability to understand and coordinate interfaces between different engineering disciplines
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify technical risks and support their resolution
  • Strong technical-documentation skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple technical activities, dependencies and priorities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Willingness to work primarily onsite in Tallinn
  • Readiness to work in a startup environment where priorities and technical requirements may evolve
